Kidde Airsense 9-30422 Air Heater Box
The Kidde Airsense 9-30422 Air Heater Box is designed to condition air drawn from very cold environments before it enters an aspirating smoke detector. By passing the sampled air across a heating element, the unit minimizes condensation on external pipework and ensures the detector components operate within their specified temperature range, reducing the risk of surface condensation and maintaining reliable detection performance.
Overview
The AirSense Stratos series of high-sensitivity aspirating smoke detectors are intended for areas where ambient temperatures are generally above 0 °C (detector minimum operating temperature is typically -10 °C; always confirm the specific detector’s specification). If the protected area is consistently below this temperature, the detector should be installed outside the cold environment in a compliant ambient temperature, with sampled air conditioned via the Air Heater Box before entering the detector.
