The Fire Beam-Xtra automatically self-aligns to the centre of the reflector during commissioning and continuously maintains alignment even when building movement occurs. This intelligent motorised technology significantly reduces false alarms—saving time, resources, reputations, and ultimately money. What truly sets the Fire Beam apart are two key innovations: a motorised beam head that constantly self-aligns, and a low-level controller that allows full access to all major functions.

The new Fire Beam-Xtra (FIREBEAM-XTRA) is the permanent replacement for both the original Fire Beam and the outgoing Plus model. Featuring enhanced optics, it can now cover distances of up to 160 metres. For installations over 100 metres, only a single beam is required—delivering substantial savings in both installation time and cost.

Key Features

New Revised Optics
The latest optical design incorporates years of refinement alongside advanced components, resulting in a VdS-approved beam detector fully compliant with EN 54-12:2015. The Fire Beam-Xtra delivers performance that exceeds other beam detectors currently on the market.

Five Times Faster Commissioning
Completely redesigned linear stepper motors provide exceptionally fast commissioning and maintenance. In test conditions at 40 metres, auto-alignment was achieved in just 3 minutes 02 seconds straight out of the box. Routine re-alignment took only 1 minute 07 seconds. This class-leading speed is matched by a robust, purpose-built design for precision and reliability.

Multi-Language Support
The Fire Beam-Xtra supports seven languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, and Czech. This feature is highly valued by our growing international customer base, with installations now spanning 62 countries worldwide.

Auto-Align On / Off
For environments prone to occasional contamination—such as theatres using artificial smoke—auto-alignment can be disabled during normal operation. This prevents unnecessary re-alignment attempts when the reflector is temporarily obscured. Auto-alignment remains active during commissioning. This option is best suited to installations on rigid structures with no building movement. For sites subject to movement, such as metal warehouses, an alternative delay function is provided (see below).

Auto-Align Time Delay
Designed for environments with short-term obscuration, this feature delays alignment checks if the received signal drops briefly. Factory set at four hours, the delay can be adjusted from 0 to 12 hours, allowing the environment sufficient time to clear.

Beam Phasing
When beams face each other, matching sample rates can cause interference and unreliable operation. Beam phasing resolves this issue by offering up to seven selectable sampling rates, allowing beams to operate reliably even when installed opposite one another with reflectors in between.

Adjustable Hysteresis
Hysteresis controls the delay between fire and normal states, preventing signal fluctuations from causing repeated alarms. Factory set at 15%, the beam must recover from 65% to 80% signal strength before returning to normal. This setting is adjustable from 1% to 40% via the controller menu.

Up to 160 Metre Coverage
Enhanced optics allow coverage of distances up to 160 metres. For applications over 100 metres, only one beam is required—eliminating the need for dual-beam installations and reducing overall costs.
