The Fire Beam-Xtra is a motorised, conventional beam smoke detector designed to self-align to the centre of the reflector during commissioning and maintain alignment automatically in response to building movement. This intelligent motorisation reduces false alarms, saving time, resources, reputations, and money. Its two standout features are the motorised self-aligning beam head and the low-level controller, which allows all major functions to be performed efficiently.
The Fire Beam-Xtra is the permanent replacement for the original Fire Beam and the outgoing Plus model. With enhanced optics, it can cover distances of up to 160 metres, eliminating the need for multiple beams on long spans and further reducing installation costs and complexity.

Auto-Align On/Off: Auto-alignment can be disabled in environments prone to temporary obscuration, such as theatres using artificial smoke, while still functioning during commissioning.
Auto-Align Time Delay: Adjustable delay prevents alignment checks during short-term signal drops. Default is 4 hours, configurable between 0–12 hours.
Beam Phasing: Multiple sampling rates (up to 7) prevent cross-talk issues when beams face each other with reflectors in between.
Adjustable Hysteresis: Controls the return delay from a fire state to normal, preventing minor signal fluctuations from triggering false alarms. Factory set at 15 %, adjustable between 1–40 %.
Extended Range: New optics enable coverage of up to 160 metres, removing the need for multiple beams on distances over 100 metres.
