The Series 65 Marine Flame Detector (UV) is designed to protect enclosed indoor areas where open flaming fires may be
The Marine Series 65 Base-Mounted UV Flame Detector is designed to protect fully enclosed indoor areas where open flames may occur. It provides a fast response to flames at distances of up to 25 m and features a single UV sensor with a narrow spectral range to distinguish flames from most false sources of radiation.
Operation:
The detector responds to ultraviolet radiation produced by flames during combustion. Because it relies solely on UV detection, it can identify even stationary flames that exhibit no flicker, such as cigarette lighters or blue gas flames. It is tuned to detect UV radiation in the 185–260 nm range, which is emitted by nearly all flames, including those invisible to the naked eye, such as hydrogen fires.
The single UV sensor’s narrow spectral response helps minimize false alarms from spurious radiation sources. The detector is intended for use in fully enclosed internal spaces. Caution: it may also respond to electrical discharges, such as lightning strikes or arc welding.
Key Features:
Detects stationary flames with no flicker
Highly sensitive to UV radiation from combustion
Compact design, compatible with the 45681-200MAR base
Zone-powered
