The Fireco Dorgard SmartSound™ fire door retainer is an enhanced version of the popular Dorgard™, providing a simple, legal, and effective way to hold and release fire doors.
Thanks to SmartSound™ technology, the unit requires no pre-programming to recognise alarm sounds. It can be set up straight out of the box and is designed to ignore ambient noises such as vacuum cleaners or other loud sounds, releasing the fire door only when your alarm is activated.
The retainer is highly customisable, allowing adjustment of features such as the anti-drag function, alarm verification time (4–12 seconds), release delay (up to 60 seconds), daily release schedules, and sensitivity. The rubber stopper maintains contact with the floor, enabling the door to be held open at any selected angle.
Supplied with two LR14 C-size batteries, the fully wireless, battery-powered device can operate for up to three years. It is suitable for all doors, including heavier doors up to 160 kg, and helps improve access while maintaining fire safety.
Simple LED indicators show the status of the unit at a glance. A three-year manufacturing guarantee provides added peace of mind. Extra rubber feet are available to reduce maintenance, and the unit comes in either black or white.
To ensure safe and clear use, install a Fire Door Safety Release Sign or Nite-Glo Fire Door Safety Release Sign alongside the retainer.
