The BF562-1 is a high-performance power supply certified to EN54-4/A2 by the LPCB and VdS (AFNOR approval pending). It features a plastic cover over the PSU PCB to prevent accidental contact with live parts and includes a single-pole volt-free changeover relay that switches for any fault condition.
Key Features:
Multiple LED indicators for supply presence, general fault, fault type, and auxiliary equipment fault
Two selectable battery charge currents
Optimisable battery fault impedance to extend battery life
Mains fail simulation mode for testing
Enhanced onboard temperature sensor with optional remote sensor
Electronic functions comply with EN50131-6 Grades 1–4 for security applications
Available in BF562-1/E (caged) and BF562-1/C (PCB-only) versions
Typical Uses:
Ideal for powering beam detectors, auto-dial communicators, aspirating smoke detectors, auto-open vent systems, auxiliary sounder systems, or any other device performing a mandatory function in a fire alarm system.
PSU Customisation:
The BF562-1 can be tailored using a BF423 configurator and PC. Configurable parameters include:
⚠️ Note: Custom parameter changes are outside the scope of EN54-4 and must be tested by the responsible person to ensure correct operation.
PSU Status LED (on PCB):
1 flash: Mains failure
2 flashes: Battery voltage low
3 flashes: Battery voltage critical
4 flashes: Charger failure
5 flashes: Charger OK (battery charging or in float)
6 flashes: No batteries fitted (DIP Switch 4)
7 flashes: Battery resistance fault (set by DIP Switch 2)
8 flashes: Output overvoltage
Battery Fault Monitoring:
Compliant with EN54-4/A2, the BF562-1 monitors battery resistance, ensuring the battery can deliver the rated load current. Degraded or uncharged batteries will trigger a fault, as required by the standard.
Data Port:
The bi-directional data port allows extraction of status information, including:
Accessing data requires additional equipment and permissions. Contact C-TEC for details.
