The EK-WL8-EXP Expander Module is designed to extend the radio coverage of an Ekho Translator Module, enabling system deployment in larger buildings and challenging wireless environments. Multiple Expanders can be configured in a microcell structure, providing an effective solution for large and complex installations.
When two or more Expander Modules are installed, they create a MESH network that maintains system integrity and enhances communication reliability. Up to 126 Expander Modules or field devices can be configured to a single Translator Module (1).
A wide range of Ekho wireless devices can be connected to the Expander Module (1). The unit transmits intelligent device data from field devices to the Loop Translator Module via a highly stable bi-directional radio communication protocol. System parameters are programmed into the Expander Module through the Translator Module.
The Expander Module is equipped with two internal antennas to reduce signal fading and ensure reliable radio communication. An optional back box is available separately.
