The XPander Optical Smoke Detector XPander Optical Smoke Detector is a wireless detector that operates on the light scatter principle, making it ideal for detecting slow-burning or smouldering fires.
Brand Information
The XPander range features a completely redesigned wireless communication system. A Radio Interface connects to the control panel via the Apollo addressable two-wire power and communication system. Detection and alarm signals are transmitted to the interface using radio waves. The detectors are multi-state, reporting normal, pre-alarm, fire, or fault conditions to the radio base, which then communicates with the interface.
The system incorporates drift compensation, alerting the control system if compensation limits are exceeded. The radio bases and signalling devices are fully addressable and use pre-set analogue values for reporting through XP95 or Discovery protocols. In addition to normal and fire states, the detectors can signal low battery, contamination, tamper, or low signal strength faults.
