Paxton10 Keypad Reader
About
The Paxton10 Keypad Reader enables two-factor authentication within the Paxton10 system, combining PIN/code entry and token verification for enhanced security. It features a fully backlit keypad with durable hardened silicone buttons for long-lasting performance. The keypad includes multi-format reading technology capable of reading Paxton, EM, MIFARE® DESFire® CSN, HID® Prox 125kHz, FeliCa and NFC credentials.
Installation
The reader’s colour-coded wiring allows direct connection to a Paxton10 Door Controller or Video Controller. It should not be mounted near other proximity readers as this may affect read range. The centrally positioned rear cable exit allows accurate drilling and mounting. The reader is supplied with 5 metres of cable and can be extended using Belden 8723 cable.
Operation
A token is presented close to the reader to request access. The controller verifies the user’s permissions and grants or denies access accordingly. The reader also supports three Bluetooth® operating modes for smart credentials: token mode, touch-to-enter mode and long-range mode.
