The Talentum® Flame Detector IR3 (16589-00) is an advanced optical flame detection system designed to protect areas where open fires may occur. Using sophisticated triple infrared sensor technology, it detects almost all flames, from hydrocarbon fires with 4.3 µm emissions to invisible fires such as hydrogen, providing comprehensive fire protection across diverse industrial applications.
The detector is sensitive to flickering, low frequency (1-15 Hz) infrared radiation emitted by flames during combustion. A key advantage of the IR3 technology is its ability to maintain detection capability even when the lens is contaminated by oil, dust, water vapor or ice, ensuring reliable operation in challenging environments where traditional detectors may fail.
With three IR sensors responding to different wavelengths, the detector discriminates between genuine flames and spurious radiation sources. Advanced signal processing and filtering techniques prevent false alarms from flickering sunlight and other environmental factors.
