The Talentum Triple Infra-Red (IR³) Flame Detector is engineered to protect areas where open fires may occur. It detects nearly all flames, from hydrocarbon fires with 4.3 µm emissions to invisible flames such as hydrogen. The detector is highly sensitive to flickering, low-frequency (1–15 Hz) infra-red radiation emitted during combustion, even if the lens is obscured by oil, dust, water, vapour, or ice.
Equipped with three IR sensors tuned to different IR wavelengths, the IR³ detector can accurately discriminate between actual flames and spurious radiation sources. Advanced filters and signal processing prevent false alarms from flickering sunlight. Standard output options include relay contacts or 4–20 mA signals, with user-selectable response speed and sensitivity.
