The Talentum Flameproof Triple IR (IR³) Flame Detector is designed for hazardous areas where open flames may occur. It detects a wide range of flames, including hydrocarbon fires with 4.3 µm emissions and invisible flames such as hydrogen. The IR³ detector senses flickering, low-frequency (1–15 Hz) infra-red radiation emitted during combustion, even if the lens is obscured by oil, dust, water, vapour, or ice.
Featuring three IR sensors, it discriminates between actual flames and false radiation sources. Advanced filtering and signal processing prevent false alarms from flickering sunlight. The detector offers selectable output options—either relay contacts or 4–20 mA signals—as standard.
