The Talentum Ultra-Violet / Dual Infra-Red (UV/IR²) Flame Detector is engineered to protect areas where open flames may occur. It detects a wide range of fires, from hydrocarbon flames with 4.3 µm emissions to invisible fires such as hydrogen. The detector senses flickering, low-frequency (1–15 Hz) infra-red radiation alongside ultra-violet emissions produced during combustion.
Equipped with one UV sensor and two IR sensors, the UV/IR² detector analyses signals across multiple wavelengths to accurately identify flames. An alarm is triggered only when both UV and IR signals match flame characteristics, providing high immunity to false sources such as sunlight, arc welding, and lightning. Selectable outputs include relay contacts or 4–20 mA signals as standard.
