The Moflash Intrinsically Safe IS-S Series provides a dependable signalling solution for fire, security, and hazardous area applications. Certified for use in explosive atmospheres, it is approved for both Group I (mining) and Group II (above-ground) environments. Engineered to meet stringent safety requirements, the IS-S Series delivers an effective acoustic warning in areas where conventional electrical equipment cannot be safely installed.
Fully compliant with EN54-3 and suitable for environments containing flammable gases, dust, or vapours, the IS-S Series ensures reliable performance and adherence to international safety standards. Its Group I approval makes it ideal for underground mining operations, including methane and coal dust atmospheres, while Group II approval supports use in above-ground industries such as oil, gas, and chemical processing plants.
The IS-S Series features a two-stage alarm with 32 tones selectable via a DIP switch on the PCB, producing a sound output of up to 105 dB at 1 metre.
For safe operation and compliance, each unit must be powered through a suitably rated and approved Zener Barrier or Galvanic Isolator. One barrier or isolator is required per device.
